Creating Order and Meaning During Organizational Chaos: Fall and Rise of the Learning Organization

Jim Taggart

Delta Partners is proud to announce its second ebook: Creating Order and Meaning During Organizational Chaos: The Fall and Rise of the Learning Organization.

This book provides a unique view of the many challenges faced by the managers and leaders in today's organizations. The accelerating pace of technical change, coupled with the radical globalization of markets and logistical supply chains, result in an environment that is far more chaotic and unsettled than any we have faced before. This is going to require that a great many people rethink their approach to leading in the new century. I hope that it challenges you and eliminates the thinking that "business as usual" is a viable alternative.

The Learning Organization.Walking-bridge-275x413

Most of us have become well acquainted with this much used - and misused - expression. Many organizations adopt such labels as the Learning Organization, Lifelong Learning, and Continuous Learning. Are they living up to their claims?

This new ebook will stimulate your thinking on learning in the context of organizational turbulence and the impact it is having on people. It draws on the ideas of such notable thinkers and writers as Margaret Wheatley, Peter Block, Angeles Arrien and Peter Senge.

There has never been a greater need for the emergence of a learning (or thinking) culture in organizations, whether in the private or public sectors. The increasing rapidity of change - with the growing demands on management and staff to perform at higher levels with diminishing resources - demands that business be conducted differently. Competition over the past decade from emerging economies has accelerated, placing a greater premium on creativity and innovation.

This e-book will have earned its value if it helps to propel you, the reader, forward through reflections on learning experiences in both your personal and professional lives. If you are in a leadership position, it provides an opportunity for self-examination of your role as champion and advocate for your followers.

After all, leaders must not only question existing work processes and explore new concepts, they must encourage and expect that their staff do so as well.

Nice! Thanks. I very much enjoyed this e-book.

In June, I’m going to the ALIA conference, which is very much in keeping with what is written here.

Glad that the book resonated with you, Pamela. I see that Peter Block and Margaret Wheatley will be at your conference. Block’s a wonderful writer (also check him out on You Tube). I met Wheatley at Royal Roads a number of years ago. Brilliant thinker.
