Keith Hillier has a track record of excellence in leadership. He leads by example and his contagious passion for excellence excites both his peers and subordinates and leads to outstanding results.
As a former Senior Assistant Deputy Minister and Chief Financial Officer with the Government of Canada, Keith led and/or participated in many government-wide initiatives. He has also represented Canada on the broader international stage at multi-lateral fora with countries such as the US, Australia, New Zealand, France, Great Britain and South Korea. Keith served as ex-officio member of the Juno Beach Foundation, and also served as a board member and Chair of the Audit and Risk Management Committee of the Institute of Public Administration of Canada.
An innovative problem solver, Keith has expertise in senior executive leadership, procurement, organizational design, finacial management, strategic and operational planning, human resource management, and information technology management.
Keith’s contribution to the Public Service has been recognized on several occasions. He is a recipient of the Queen’s Diamond Jubilee Medal; the prestigious Head of the Public Service Award for Excellence in Service Delivery to Canadians; the Minister of Veterans Affairs Award of Excellence; and the Institute of Public Administrations Lieutenant Governor’s Award for Excellence in Public Administration.
Keith is the recipient of the Canadian Forces Medallion for Distinguished Service. This medallion is awarded by the Chief of Defence Staff, on behalf of the Canadian Armed Forces, to recognize outstanding performance by a person or persons other than active military personnel. It is the highest honor than a non-military person can receive from the Canadian Armed Forces. Further, he has also received the Chief of Military Personnel Command Commendation and the Royal Canadian Legion Certificate of Appreciation.
Keith is a member of the Financial Management Institute of Canada; the Institute of Public Administration of Canada, and the Association of Professional Executives of Canada.
